Position Title: Renewable Energy Product Manager, Software Development

Job Description:
Join National Semiconductor as the Company enters the photovoltaic market with new technology designed to increase the effectiveness of solar panels under mismatch conditions. National's SolarMagic™ technology recoups up to 57 percent of the lost energy, dramatically improving the economics in shaded and other real-world conditions. The SolarMagic technology maximizes the energy output of each solar panel, compensating for much of the energy lost due to shadows from tree branches or power lines, dust and debris, and panel-to-panel mismatch.
In this role, the individual will be responsible for architecting and driving the development of next generation demand creation tools within the renewable energy space. The individual will work closely with customers, partners, vendors, sales, application engineers and software engineers to develop new product offerings and improve existing ones.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Carry the design task from concept to implementation
• Drive the architecting of new products and features
• Program manage across internal and external resources, including customers and vendors
• Design user interaction models, workflows and user interfaces
• Integrate internal and external product design into a cohesive user experience
• Create prototypes and author detailed interaction specifications
• Test and debug the tools with some degree of code modifications
• Work with visual designers to improve and refine product visual design and consistency
• Successfully communicate conceptual ideas and design rationale
QUALIFICATIONS
• Software Program Management Experience: At least 3+ years experience leading large design efforts and coordinating project teams of 4 or more members (both internal and external resources)
• Agile Development background a plus
• Excellent interpersonal, customer engagement and communication skills
• Mastery of user interaction design skills
• GUI design, PHP, JavaScript, HTML, MySQL
• Familiarity with field and lab-based usability research methodologies
• Ability to prioritize and manage work to critical project timelines in a fast-paced environment
• Must be organized, have an eye for detail, and be able to put ideas into a tangible form
• Ability to work independently (self-starter) and collaboratively
• Basic understanding of financial analysis tools is a plus
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Human Factors or computer science or related field
• 5+ Years in Software Marketing and Definition
• 2+ Years in Software Programming
