Staff Field Applications Engineer – Santa Clara, CA

Job Overview
The ideal candidate will possess the following skill sets:
Be a technical expert and a reliable source of highly technical information in order to become the customers trusted Analog Advisor supporting the local Sales Team. Creates innovative applications for NSC products and uncovers new markets for existing products and systems. Ability to develop new solutions for solving complex customer problems. Develops solutions to problems that require extensive investigation and clarification. Solves customer’s application problems. Understands existing processes, procedures, or develops methods that may be modified to develop appropriate solutions. Makes business oriented decisions related to technical approaches or designs on projects for customers. Participates in strategic planning to complete programs. Ensures timely completion of several complex independent tasks, ability to manage one or more complex projects while providing technical direction to others. Develop technical plans considering short, medium, and long term needs of customer and NSC. Works with only minimal direct supervision, is a self starter, reliable and proactive in engaging with customers sales teams and product lines. Has independent responsibility for entire projects. Provides technical, informal direction, and guidance and/or formal training or technical assistance to NSC and customers. Has major responsibility for direct technical communication with customers, factory, and sales engineering.
Work with customers to provide and/or develop the most efficient technical solution based on customers' priorities and requirements built around company products. Integrate various technologies to meet customer requirements. Manage the technical relationships with key customers in the Bay Area.

Develop technical solutions for customers including schematics, product selection and if required, customized hardware solutions such as prototype evaluation boards. Work with customers to troubleshoot and identify problems in their applications. Provide product presentations to engineering community and key customers in the territory. Develop and conduct technical seminars. Participate in customer design reviews.
Act as a liaison to the Product Lines to ensure successful design and implementation programs. Provide or facilitate training for company sales engineers on new products. Manage relationships with selected distribution FAEs, including technical training and customer applications support. Contributes articles to major publications and maintain an expertise in a strategic area to NSC.

Experience Requirements
5-8 years of design experience with a BSEE or equivalent. 4-7 years of design experience with an MSEE or equivalent. Candidates must possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of customers and management. This position will be located in Santa Clara, CA at our Corporate headquarters.
