Job Description:
Minimum Qualification

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent. 7 yrs increasing responsibility in Purchasing/Supply Chain Management with supervisory experience.

Primary Function

Leads site procurement activities.

Schedules and procures materials and services; negotiates vendor contracts; assists management in developing and implementing systems and procedures; and provides training and work direction to other purchasing personnel.

Leads formulation and timely execution of strategic supply initiatives for assigned commodities. Leads collaboration between suppliers, plant and purchasing personnel in order to achieve goals.

Work under the direction of the FE Purchasing Manager.

Responsibilities

1. Perform the most complex procurement assignments and provide guidance to other purchasing personnel in their assigned area.

2. Plan, organize and manage agreed procurement strategies and supporting activities for all purchases assigned as under their control.

3. Effectively plan, organize and manage assigned procurement requirements in a manner that supports established procurement strategies and goals.

4. Manage purchasing activities for the purchases / suppliers allocated to them by the FE Purchasing Manager including benchmarking, best in class practices. Cost management, key negotiation for all of the company’s requirements to meet the established goals and objectives.

5. Manage multi-location commodity supply chain activities and other purchasing activities for the commodity buyers allocated to them by the FE Purchasing Manager (for these commodities the commodity buyer job profile will apply) including benchmarking and best in class practices. Effectively manage costs and conduct key negotiations for company requirements in order to meet established goals and objectives.

6. Supervise the daily site activities of the purchasing group on site. Maintain open and active communication with site management, and provide periodic reporting to site Managing Director as agreed.

7. Address and execute goals and objectives allocated to the site purchasing group (excluding commodity buyer goals which will be reported directly by the commodity buyers / Lead Buyers) by the FE Purchasing Manager. Report against these Goals and objectives on a period basis.

8. Identify industry and market trends for the purchases / suppliers allocated and review with the FE Purchasing Manager and implement necessary purchasing strategies as agreed with the FE Purchasing Manager to meet changing business and market conditions.

9. Review / develop and update worldwide sourcing strategy for the purchases / suppliers allocated.

10. Develop senior level strategic relationships with key suppliers and subcontractors.

11. Responsible for purchasing costs paid, quality and delivery for purchases / suppliers allocated

12. Furnish periodic reports of purchasing activities including spending, cost reductions, cost increases, supplier performance issues, cycle time and other key strategic reporting information as may be required by the FE Purchasing Manager.
