Job Title: Systems Engineering Technician
Location: Annapolis Junction, MD
Job Overview: You will be part of integration, diagnostic, and repair support team that troubleshoots, tests and maintains special purpose computer systems. You will perform system monitoring, data analysis, repairs, and re-qualifications.
We expect you to look for ways to improve and automate work functions, and processes through on-going analysis and to communicate and share new information, learnings, and methods with cross-functional team members to achieve our organizational goals and meet the mission.
Qualifications: Requires the software skills necessary to troubleshoot complex software and hardware problems in a command line LINUX environment. Requires an understanding of the concepts and procedures needed to solve highly complex problems in the life-cycle support of special purpose super-computers. Performs system monitoring, set-up, and diagnostics to evaluate PCB functionality. Requires a practical knowledge of electronics, and network principles. Communicates and works well in an effective team environment. Strong verbal and written skills are a must based on documentation requirements. Some local travel will be required and occasional trips for training purposes. Ability to be flexible and share other duties as assigned. Knowledge and experience of LINUX (or UNIX) operation systems essential.
Education: AA Degree in Computer Science/Certificate in Micro-electronics, Software, or equivalent experience.
Clearance Requirements: Applicants MUST be US citizens and MUST hold (or have held within the last 24 months) an active TS/SCI with CI polygraph.
Work Schedule: The work schedule is based on 11.5 hour shifts (alternating 3 days on - 4 days off / then 4 days on - 3 off), 7am-7pm Sunday through Tuesday, plus every other Wednesday. Holiday work is required. Overtime is paid each day after the first 8 hours worked.
The Maryland site, located in Annapolis Junction, has supported the US Government in the semiconductor industry for over 20 years.
