Job Description:
National leads the industry in the Power Management field and offers state-of-the-art power management products using advanced tools and technology. As a member of the Power Management group, you will develop analog ICs that are designed for multimarket applications.

As a Principal IC Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the design and development of switching power supply power ICs for broad market applications from product definition through release to production. Specific responsibilities include:

* Working with other functional groups to define and architect new products
* Leading the IC design and simulating both system architecture and detailed analog circuit blocks
* Supervising blocks and full chip layout
* Debugging at the silicon level and interacting with product engineering to characterize product
* Supporting test development to ensure proper test coverage of the product
* Working close with other functional groups to support product release

This person will be involved with designing integrated switching regulators and switching regulator controllers, and will work with state-of-the-art power supply solutions. These projects will cover many different architectures – current mode, voltage mode, and constant on-time. Ideally, you should be familiar with power switching designs. A function of this role will also be the mentoring of junior designers.

Requirements:

BS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent with 8+ years of design experience in analog integrated circuit design. The majority of experience should be designing at the transistor level in Bipolar, CMOS, DMOS or BiCMOS processes. Knowledge of analog circuit design techniques, including but not limited to, operational amplifiers, voltage/current references, oscillators, comparators, sample and holds, switched capacitor circuits is required. Knowledge of basic digital circuit design techniques, including but not limited to counters and timers is also necessary.

The proven capability of execution and developing product on schedule are a must. This engineer must be highly focused and remain committed to obtaining closure on project goals. In the Principal Design Engineer role, your must be able to communicate effectively with managers and peers and work well in a development team.
