Title: Equipment Technician
Location: Santa Clara, CA
Job Overview:
The position performs electromechanical setup, calibration, repair and preventative maintenance on HVAC equipment. Identifies or diagnose problems, repairs or replaces defective parts. Works with technical documentation, manuals, and drawings to resolve problems. May provide recommendations to procedures, specifications, and action plans to address reliability issues working with engineering. Documents work performed on equipment. Always looks to improve work, products, functions, and processes through on-going analysis. Communicates and shares new information, learnings, and methods with cross-functional team members to achieve organizational goals. Requires working in a fabrication, assembly, or test floor environments.
Job Description:
The candidate will require thorough knowledge of practical applications of concepts, procedures, and guidelines to solve extremely complex problems. Ability to develop creative and innovative solutions to extremely complex problems with considerable initiative and independent thought. This individual will also work on extremely complex projects and may act independently to determine methods and procedures and may provide guidance to less experienced team members. Duties will also include but are not limited to:
- Operate and maintain small (3 T.R.) to large (100+ T.R.) size Air handling system including economizers, basic B.M.S and VFD control.
- Operate and maintain Packaged Air Conditioning units, including computer room system and window units.
- Air balance; air distribution and filtration system.
- Operate and maintain Facilities systems, including CDA; process vacuum; process cooling water system; hot water boilers; central chiller and chilled water system; cooling towers; exhaust system and pumping.
- Basic knowledge on R.O. and D.I. Water system.
- Basic knowledge on Waste Water and Acid Neutralization System.
- Operate and maintain different type of air moving equipment.
- Participate in HVAC engineering and project meeting/scheduling.
- Coordinate with other work group and contractor in scheduling and support project during Holiday Shutdown.
- Requires the ability to provide advanced training to less experienced technicians.
Requirements:
Minimum requirements are: 10 + years in facilities in Electronic manufacturing/Fab environment or AA degree/Certificate in HVAC or equivalent with a minimum of 6 years of direct experience. Must be capable of lifting or moving equipment that weighs up to 50 pounds in adherence to appropriate safety procedures. Required to work in tight or confined spaces, to use a ladder to access high places, and to climb stairs as required to access services areas. EPA HVAC Universal Certification on Refrigerant Transition and Recovery.
