Position Summary:

The Portfolio Manager position is responsible for business management of NSC's portfolio of high speed amplifiers, high speed data converters, and high performance timing products. The main objective of this position is to maximize National’s return on previous R&D investments through distribution/channel engagement, development of customer support/selling tools, portfolio positioning, strategic partnership, pricing strategies, and MARCOM.

Responsibilities:

The Portfolio Manager role emphasizes activities that sustain or extend National’s technology leadership position in high speed analog. Working closely with sales, applications engineering, and channel partners, the portfolio manager will be responsible for developing National’s high speed portfolio positioning strategy. The portfolio will primarily consist of building block components that form the core technologies for National’s high speed signal path vertical market strategies. As such, aligning new portfolio products with long term vertical market teams will lead to a sustainable long term roadmap successful in both broad market and vertical segments.

Portfolio manager responsibilities include:
•Market analysis – continually monitor National’s marketshare and position relative to competition
•Business reporting – combining tops down market forecast with direct communication to sales and channel partners, develop internal revenue/profit forecasts
•Portfolio positioning strategy – develop a portfolio plan that can be clearly articulated to management, customers, and channel partners
•Sustainable revenue growth – identify and execute activities leading to enhanced design win of existing products and National mindshare relative to competition. This can include, but is not limited to, customer visits, sales training, distribution/channel engagement, web/selling tool development, pricing, and MARCOM engagement
•Work with applications and design engineers to define next generation core portfolio products that align with vertical market roadmaps

The product families that the role is responsible for are high speed data converters, high speed amplifiers, clock & timing circuits, and VCO/PLL. Combined, these technologies represent state of the art building blocks for high speed signal path solution development.


Requirements:

Minimum requirements:
•10 years related work experience
•At least 5 years in a marketing role in broad market portfolio management for a semiconductor supplier
•BS degree in electrical or computer engineering
•Ability to travel 10% of time

Preferred:
•MSEE / MBA
•Previous experience in distribution management or MARCOM
•Analog semiconductor background will be a plus
