Job Description:
Job Overview
The Failure Analysis Engineer will be responsible for preparing silicon wafers and MEMS product for cross sections. The main output of the role will be the production of high quality SEM pictures from these samples on a JEOL SEM machine with fast turnaround to support the site priorities. They will also be responsible for managing external failure analysis to support the site needs in terms of preparation, shipping and turnaround. Responsibilities will also include managing the FA lab layout, maintenance and running costs.
Other equipment being used on site includes EDAX (Energy Dispersive X-ray), SRP (Spreading Resistance Profiling), FIB (Focused Ion Beam) and EMMI with a Microcleaver tool to support Yield Engineering Defectivity projects planned for early next year

The successful candidate should have good communication and interpersonal skills and be willing to train other engineers on the use of some of the Lab equipment . They will work as part of the
Quality Engineering Team and interact with Fab Process and Yield engineers on a regular basis . Solves difficult problems through assessment of various techniques and approaches to develop appropriate, creative, and practical solutions. Solutions typically result in improved products, processes or quality.

Requirements
The ideal candidate must be competent in preparing samples for cross sectional SEM (Scanning Electron Microscope) and producing high quality SEMS.
Experience in JEOL SEM is a plus.

Knowledge and experience of other FA equipment such as EDAX, FIB, SRP is desirable but not essential.

Minimum requirements: AS with 3 years relevant experience, 2 year with BS or equivalent; 1 year with MS or equivalent.
